April 16th. It’s official.
The Sound Strike is proud to announce Sound Strike Songs: an exclusive collection of mp3s to be sold exclusively at www.thesoundstrike.net. All proceeds will go directly to the Sound Strike Fund, which provides needed resources to families caring for children in Arizona whose parents are detained or have been deported, immigrant rights organizing and legal defense.
Sound Strike Artists Conor Oberst and his band Bright Eyes have released the first official song online today, enttled “Coyote Song”.
On Saturday July 31st, 2010 in Omaha, NE, several bands including Bright Eyes, Cursive, Desaparecidos (their first live performance since 2002), and Lullaby For The Working Class gathered together to fight for equality by playing a benefit show for the ACLU Nebraska.
Check out a video documenting the show at The Sound Strike, who’s website contains much more information about what you can do to help support immigrant rights. We encourage you to check it out.
