Desaparecidos return as the original line up of Conor Oberst (vocals, guitar) Landon Hedges (bass guitar, vocals), Matt Baum (drums), Denver Dalley – (guitar) and Ian McElroy (keyboards). The band formed in 2001, released one album (2002′s critically lauded Read Music/Speak Spanish), and ceased playing together shortly thereafter.

Prior to the long awaited and much rumored summer dates, Oberst will play several solo shows throughout the northeast.

Additionally, Saddle Creek’s reissues of Fevers & Mirrors and There Is No Beginning To The Story are in stores today. Pick up your copy at the Saddle Creek webstore.

NPR: Conor Oberst, Ron Sexsmith Pay Tribute To Leonard Cohen

Posted on 7:04 pm

Who’d have thought a 77-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter would be hovering near the top of the pop charts? Leonard Cohen was a poet and fiction writer who, in the 1960s, wrote songs like “Suzanne,” “So Long, Marianne” and “Bird on a Wire.” His unmistakable voice lulls you into a hypnotic spell on his new album, so we asked two fellow singers and Cohen fans to talk about what they hear on Old Ideas: Conor Oberst, best known for his band Bright Eyes, and Ron Sexsmith.
